The body also needs new carbohydrates and one should eat quick carbs to replenish glycogen stores. This assists the muscle building and to charge the new energy in the muscle group.
Optimally you should eat 60 to 110 grams of fast carbs immediately after exercise, and 30 to 55 grams of protein.
This should be taken immediately after exercise.
After about 1 hour of exercise you can eat a normal meal with food, to assist the building for additional training.
